Meet Your Therapist

Choosing a therapist is a meaningful investment of your time, energy, and trust. While a bio can’t capture everything, it offers a glimpse into who I am and how I show up in this work.

Authenticity, transparency, and lived experience are core to my practice. I walk the path alongside my clients—continually engaging in my own self-work, evolving strategies, and healing processes. I rarely suggest something I haven’t explored myself.

With over two decades of study and professional experience in mental health, I’ve trained across psychodynamic, solution-focused, existential, feminist, and integrative modalities. My background includes doctoral-level research in trauma and addiction, participation in studies on music therapy, yoga, and breathwork, and clinical work across multiple levels of care in the substance use and counseling fields. I'm also trained in Rapid Resolution Therapy, embodiment practices, nervous system fitness, and women’s hormone and biorhythm health.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a speaker, writer, and educator with a passion for whole-person wellness. I’ve shared my work through platforms like GAIA, Biohackers World, and SXSW, and I host a podcast that explores the intersections of mental health, wellness, medicine, and daily life. I always invite clients to bring in any public work they come across if it feels meaningful or relevant to their own journey.

Things clients say about working with me:

Kristen is very patient and knowledgeable about trauma, codependence and good at moving through my process with me at my pace. She is great at suggesting additional information sources for me as requested and also helping me understand the root cause of my actions.

Kristen is accommodating and direct in her work, often striking the balanced position of being comfortably engaging. She is actively responsive to temperament, knowing when and how to bring you into unexplored zones of your own perspective. Her no-bullsh*t approach has garnered my appreciation and respect, and she serves it in a highly welcoming manner.

I have worked with therapists before but it wasn't like this. I have made more progress in less time working with Kristen than my previous therapists.

I've experienced more growth and personal progress through my work with Kristen than I thought possible. She is always insightful, engaged and present.
